Stacey & Andrew’s Fairytale (and down to earth) Wedding!

Unicorns …. Bats …. Software Engineers and Veterinarians – all made for very interesting content for my couple’s personal story at their rustic, feel-good wedding yesterday!  Stacey and Andrew first came to meet me only a few months ago but I feel like I’ve known them a lifetime.  They are the kind of people who you want to know as they are so genuine, warm and funny.

They chose Gum Gully Farm in Silvan for their wedding and reception and it could not have been a more perfect setting.  The whole of the premises is a visual delight at every turn and Sue, Colin and their staff are welcoming and so very efficient.  They have so many choices for where you can have your ceremony (under the vines, in the chapel) but Andrew and Stacey chose the secret garden at the back, which was perfect.  It was pretty, intimate and a little protected from the slight wind that was whizzing around.  Jars of colourful native flowers and petals (expertly arranged by the bride’s sister Heidi) adorned the garden bench seats and it was picture perfect.

Andrew wore a pale blue suit and navy bow tie which set him apart from his groomsmen, who wore royal blue suits, and the contrast worked so well.  He was relaxed, happy and so excited to see his bride.  He chatted happily as guests arrived and everyone was so chilled out in the afternoon dappled sunlight.

Stacey arrived in a black limo with her lovely bridesmaids who wore cocktail length pale lime dresses.  On greeting Stacey at the car, I was truly taken back by her stunning blush pink/ivory dress.  She looked amazing and like most brides, just a little nervous.  A string quartet welcomed all of us in and up the aisle, and Stacey walked in with both her parents to the tune from the movie ‘Up’ called ‘Married Life’.

The ceremony itself was full of laughter as these two shared so much with me of their daily lives together and their courtship.  Even their vows had some light-hearted moments that had both of them laughing and overall, it is up there as one of my all-time favourite ceremonies.

My talented son Chris (who is usually music roadie / mum’s photographer) was videoing this wedding so we stayed on for the reception to watch Stacey and Andrew perform a FANTASTIC first dance together that involved some flips and dramatic drops (worthy of Dancing with the Stars!!)

Last but not least, I got to work with Alan and Carolyn Rogers Photography who, over the years have become great friends of mine.  I am so excited when we have the opportunity to work together because we’re like a well-oiled team.  Their quality of work, commitment and professionalism is second to none and I cannot wait to see their incredible photos from this wedding.

Andrew and Stacey have many wondrous opportunities ahead of them as they head overseas to live and work for a while.  No doubt their family and friends will miss them but I wish them a lifetime of happiness and many, many random dancing moments!!
